April 2, 2025 — Video with audio examples published on the Electro-Euroatavism genre
My music has been deeply influenced by what I have come to call "electro-Euroatavism," which is a genre that mixes ancient European musical traditions (folk and medieval) with a dark, driving, electronic sound. This video is based on the text that has been available on the genre section of this web site, but adds additional audio examples of melismatic/ornamented singing, the differences between modal and tonal compositions, European folk music, and musical artists that are part of this genre. The YouTube video is available here.
March 4, 2025 — Remix of "The Weeping Moorlands"
My remix of "The Weeping Moorlands" by the Secret Archives of the Vatican has been released. I've been listening to this artist for a while and came across this song and thought it would be amazing to do a remix of it. (Thanks to Vince Millett for his interest!) The result reminds me a bit of what Dead Can Dance might have sounded like with a more overt, driving electronic sound.
February 7, 2025 — Remix of "Sane" released
Happy to announce that my remix of "Sane" by Mudbard, Elvya Dulcimer, and Sasha Luch has been officially released.
I had a lot of fun working on this remix. The original song had so many wonderful elements to it -- Elvya's ethereal voice, the ambient, mysterious folk structure from Mudbard, and Sasha Luch's arpeggione -- that it was, at first, a bit of a challenge to figure out where to take it. But, once I just let go and allowed the music to lead me, things started happening fast. I'm pretty happy with the result--I hope you are as well!
December 11, 2024 — Sacrifice EP released
The Sacrifice EP is now available on all of the major streaming services with videos of the songs available on YouTube. The EP features electronic, taverncore (acoustic), and folk- and medieval- inspired electronica sung in English, Middle English, and Latin. It's a story of pathological agreeableness, shadow work, and love.
